Partnerships

Partnerships with local and international institutions enable the Qualcomm Institute (QI) to have a greater impact training the next generation of scientists, engineers and high-tech workers. Partnering institutions typically manage the applications process for these opportunities.

Veteran Nanotechnology Training

As part of the Microelectronics and Nanomanufacturing for Veterans Consortium, QI and its Nano3 facility are offering nanotechnology training to veterans studying at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California. The program, funded by the National Science Foundation and administered through Southwestern’s Veterans’ Services Office seeks to meet a nationwide need for jobs in semiconductor manufacturing.

Artificial Intelligence Development Project

QI’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Development Project offers students studying at South Korean universities a month-long exploration of AI in fields like energy, transportation and health. The program was founded by QI Principal Network Architect Seokheon “Justin” Cho in 2013 to pass on practical applications in a fast-growing field and expose participants to a new culture. Today, the program is active in summer and winter and has hosted students from seven different universities across South Korea.
