Lovella Cacho

Lovella Cacho serves as the Industry Partnerships and Outreach Manager for the Qualcomm Institute, the UC San Diego division of the California Institute for Telecommunication and Information Technology.

She has managed the QI Innovation Space and its labs since its launch in 2014 and has helped over three dozen startups companies navigate the university ecosystem in support of their R&D efforts. She also manages the institute’s various outreach initiatives, such as summer undergraduate research programs and STEM- and DEI-focused community events, and oversees the QI projects team.

She has worked at UC San Diego since 2000 in various divisions and roles, including lab manager, operations and human resource manager, and events manager. She received her bachelor’s degree with majors in molecular cell biology and English from UC Berkeley.
