UC San Diego-National Sun Yat-sen University 3rd Bilateral Research Symposium

This is the third bilateral research symposium organized between UC San Diego and Taiwan's National Sun Yat-sen University to promote research collaboration in photonics and materials, marine science, social sciences and international studies. Keynote speakers on Friday will include: Scripps Institution of Oceanography director Margaret Leinen, NSYSU senior vice president Yang-Yih Chen, UC San Diego emeritus professor Richard Madsen, and ECE professor Shaya Fainman. During the Saturday sessions, keynote talks will be given by NSYSU professor Kin Lu Wong and ECE professor Peter Asbeck. UC San Diego EVC Peter Cowhey and NSYSU president Ying-Yao Cheng will make opening remarks at the conference. Calit2's Qualcomm Institute will present some of its research on Friday afternoon.
